Describe how the things sold at your retailer are priced, and why – how that pricing structure is related to the store’s location.

Discussion Board

This week, we look at retail pricing decisions.

Based on what you learned from chapter 10 in terms of retail pricing and store location, pick one food retailer near you – it could be a grocery store, a restaurant, a mass merchandiser, a convenience store…

What store is it?
What is its location – be specific: is it in a shopping plaza next to other stores that sell similar merchandise?

Is it a free standing store that’s is no where near its nearest competitor? Is it a grocery store across the street from another grocery store?

Is it a convenience store on a busy road? A pizza place in a downtown with several other food options in easy walking distance?

Using that retailer as an example, explain how a store’s location affects the price it can charge.

So to explain that, you need to describe how the things sold at your retailer are priced, and why – how that pricing structure is related to the store’s location.

For this, again, you need to use the information in our chapter.

Your response must be a minimum of 5-7 sentences, relating all subjects being discussed with topics covered in chapter slides.
